Delhi Pharmaceutical Sciences and Research University (DPSRU) is the first University in India in Pharmaceutical Sciences sector established under the Govt. of NCT of Delhi by an Act of Delhi Legislature "The Delhi Pharmaceutical Sciences and Research University Act, 2007". The University has been established with an objective of facilitating and promoting studies and research in Pharmaceutical Sciences including Clinical Research, Regulatory Sciences, Healthcare Sciences and Management; and Technology Development and Transfer, and matters connected therewith or incidental thereto.

DPSRU was established by transforming the Delhi Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences and Research (DIPSAR) which was established in 1964, one of the premier pharmaceutical sciences institute in the country. DPSRU is recognized by University Grants Commission (UGC) under Section 12B of UGC Act. DPSRU has been accredited by NAAC with Grade "A" (CGPA: 3.01) in 2024.

The University is located in Pushp Vihar, Sector 3, M.B. Road, New Delhi - 110017. The main campus of the University is spread over an area of 35 Acres. The School of Physiotherapy is located at a separate campus of 10.5 Acres in Pushp Vihar, New Delhi.

DPSRU has 6 constituent schools/departments: DIPSAR (Delhi Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences and Research), School of Pharmaceutical Sciences (SPS), School of Allied Health Sciences & Management (SAHSM), School of Physiotherapy (SoP), Amity School of Sports & Recreation Management (ASSRM), and Centre for Meditation and Yoga Sciences (CMYS). The University also has a World Class Skill Centre (WCSC).

The University has more than 90 faculty members across all departments and schools. It has more than 2600 students enrolled in various UG, PG, PhD, and Diploma programmes. DPSRU has strong industry linkages with leading pharmaceutical companies and research organizations.
