About Shri Taranjit Singh Sandhu

Shri Taranjit Singh Sandhu is the Hon'ble Lieutenant Governor of Delhi and serves as the Chancellor of Delhi Pharmaceutical Sciences and Research University (DPSRU). A distinguished Indian Foreign Service (IFS) officer of the 1988 batch, he brings decades of experience in diplomacy, international relations, and public administration.

Shri Sandhu served as India's Ambassador to the United States of America from 2019 to 2022, one of the most critical diplomatic postings, where he strengthened India–US bilateral ties across trade, defence, technology, and people-to-people relations. Prior to this, he served as India's High Commissioner to Sri Lanka.

As Chancellor of DPSRU, Shri Sandhu provides strategic leadership and vision to the University, guiding it towards greater academic excellence, research innovation, and global recognition in pharmaceutical sciences and allied health disciplines. Under his Chancellorship, DPSRU continues to uphold its status as India's premier pharmacy university.

Shri Sandhu is committed to fostering an environment of quality education aligned with the National Education Policy 2020, and to strengthening DPSRU's contribution to the nation's healthcare and pharmaceutical ecosystem in line with the vision of Viksit Bharat @2047.
